Who
may apply?
4-H members in the 8th-11th grades.
The categories for applicants are: vocal, dance and technical (sound
and light).
What is required?
There are two ways to apply for the TN 4-H Performing Arts Troupe:
- Schedule a live audition. All live auditons will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Applications to schedule a live auditions must be received by March 13, 2009.
- Submit a video or DVD.
Video or DVD must
be postmarked by April 17, 2009. and sent to:

Each vocalist must have at least one selection with
musical accompaniment. A dancer or vocalist may also include a group
performance where the individual is clearly identified. It is also required that all vocal applicants include at least one selection that includes movement and dance.
Teens applying in the technical category do not need to submit a
video. All technical positions are currently filled. However, we encourage those interested to apply in case of an unexpected opening during the year.
A commitment to attend six to eight
shows, rehearsals and a summer workshop is required. 4-H'ers are
responsible for their own expenses and travel arrangements to and
from the performances.
Performance dates already scheduled
include the following:
June 13-14: Summer Workshop - Hendersonville, TN
June 23-26: 4-H Electric Camp (Exact date TBA)
July 24: State 4-H Roundup - Knoxville
August 23: Wilson County Fair - Lebanon
March 29, 2009: State 4-H Congress Pageant
